Max Poolman is an Amsterdam based artist. In his music, he combines folk, country and rock influences. He is inspired by artists such as Tyler Childers, Ryan Bingham and Justin Townes Earle. In his live performances, the audience is drawn into the show by his personal songs and raw, edgy voice. In these shows, he alternates between intimate acoustic songs with just a guitar and a blues harp and, with his band The Union, rugged country-rock tunes by which the audience goes crazy.
Max was one of the most booked artists in the prestige Dutch touring festival Popronde in 2021. In 2020 his first EP, called Bucking the Tiger, was released and was well received and critically acclaimed in the Netherlands. Max already plays tons of shows throughout Europe; from the famous Amsterdam pop temple Paradiso to headlining festivals.
